Coffs Harbour

Aubergines and tomatoes

Thursday 6th Nov.

Today we are heading south towards Coffs Harbour.
The town shrimp!

Thursday morning farmer’s market is our first destination, much like the Peterborough Farmer’s Market with a few exceptions. They have one selling oysters, local Macadamia nuts, local pecans, full size cakes, apples from the mountains, and stripped aubergine.  They

present their wares beautifully with an artistic flare, not only selling due to flavour, but on how the product is displayed.  The mountain apples are delicious and we have a few more for later lunches.

Rug hooking is progressing well!
The road is twisty and windy not unlike any other road we have been on this past month.  It hugs the Pacific Ocean in places and provides majestic views of the coastline.  Just north of Ballina, at Pat MortonsLookout, we watch hang gliders flying in over 20 knot winds.

At Evans Head, another nice lookout, the weather is cooler here. Great views from the rescue station’s lookouts.
We find a cabin at Coffs Harbour and an excellent bottle of Bundaberg Sarsaparilla.
