Red Belly, Black Snake

Wed. Nov. 12th – Red Belly, Black Snake

Miriam's front porch.
Off to Miriam’s home for a last cup of tea.  We stop at the Heritage Bakery and find some sweet treats. Coffee and treats with Miriam and Jill, who had spent the night.  They were dying and the clothes lines were full!

Dying with Miriam and Jill!
Miriam gave me a lesson on proggy. I can't wait to work on the geometric proggy rug Mrs. Parent gave me.

Dolphin point!
Our travels bring us to the harbour in Ulladulla and find that the tide is in so we continue.  We also stop back into Dolphin Point and the waves crashing on the shore are spectacular.  The shore is beautiful and we take every opportunity to stop and look.

More waves at Dolphin Point!
Jill had suggested we stop at the Murramarang National Park and drive in to Pebbly Beach.  This is where the kangaroos go down to the beach.  We park and immediately find a family of kangaroos. I won’t let Alan go right up to them, but he managed to get great shots.

Pebbly Beach.
We walk on the cut lawn back to the beach.  As I put my foot down, there, very close in front of me is a snake.  I pivoted quickly and ran.  When I turned I saw that it was a meter long red bellied black snake.  It headed off to the bushes.  We later found out it is the tenth most poisonous snake here in Australia.

I was so shaken, it took me days to walk a path without fear.

We eat our picnic at Bateman’s Bay and find some interesting fabric to purchase.  Our suit cases are going to be heavy.

Scarlet Rosella.

We spend the night in a motel at Narooma.
